University of Paderborn

The University of Paderborn considers itself "The University for the Information Society". Corporate image, mission statement and the university's actions are led by this guiding principle. It is a fully accredited state university offering all types of academic degrees including PhD and postdoctoral lecture qualifications in five faculties and several research institutes. The current number of students at the University is over 13.000. Paderborn concentrates on computer science and its applications, and especially on IT-related aspects of interdisciplinary collaboration involving all the academic departments of the university. Together they all contribute to developing and critically exploring the information society, with arts and humanities taking on a major, independent role.
