University of Cologne

Being founded in 1388 and thus representing Germany’s second oldest university, the University of Cologne looks back on a long and successful tradition of research and teaching. Today the University of Cologne comprises six Faculties and is greatly reputed for its high-level research, its enormous variety of choice in courses and strong international orientation.

The University is located near downtown in the city of Cologne, which is a significant trade and media centre with innumerable cultural and historical treasures, world-famous museums and an active art scene. Its Corporate Relations and strong ties with research institutes as well as cultural organisations have been an essential characteristic throughout the University’s existence.

Since 2005, the University of Cologne runs an official university partnership with the Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou. In addition to that, there is an abundance of partnerships between the individual faculties, which the students of the respective faculty can make use of:
